Anygulderners, O Immaculate Reader, the HMS Employees Three (Slave Daves and moi-meme) will be exhibiting for our third time at the eclectic comic gathering known as the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco this Saturday and Sunday. There's gonna be all this great stuff there which you can preview electronically here.

But more importantly, lik-uh-sed, we will be there. Sitting! Staring! Getting Hungry!

Come check us out since we'll be showing our immaculate (not as immaculate as you, scrumptious Reader, ne'er fear!) comic'd novels, PROGRAM and Liberation Sea.

For the very few of you who have not heard of these picture books with words on top of the pictures, here's a brief summary:

PROGRAM: A four volume science-fiction story about a man who can control all the cells in his body via sending his mind to an inifinite abyss and manipulating himself there*. In the last volume, he stumbled upon some lovely fellows, the Plasmads, who evolve throughout their lifespan, gaining not only new limbs and organs, but emotions, as well. There's also a cool chick named Smythe. We're hoping SyFy is reading this blog because it's right up their alley, emmmmmmuhrite?!

Liberation Sea: A seven volume war drama set in the African and Italian campaigns of Dubya Dubya Two, following a disillusioned private and his struggle to maintain his resolve amid the relentless horrors of those years. I promise, tanks explode and there's snipers and all types of fiery awesome death shit that will make you forget about said horrors and realize how awesome war is! Hey, maybe that private guy should just read this book! Meta!

We'll also be shilling the 24 Hour Comic, "The World Unseen," which you can see for you entirety and print it out for yourself, here! But if you're a Virtuous Human, you'll come by and purchase it so as to lessen the plight of these comic bookers and give a slight hope to their blatantly childish dreams.

Hard, Sweaty Labor-Fruits!

And naught but a week later what do we see-eth, O uncouth, swine-bred Reader?

The fruits of that papery gauntlet, the 24 Hour Comic Challenge!

I finished the 24th page around 5 a.m. making it a 17 hour comic in actuality, but I'd gotten very little sleep the night before (foresight!) and knew that I would have to work fast, lest the dread demons of Fatigue and Madness take over this handsome gentleman's even more handsome brain.

In all serious-mindedness, O lard-laden Reader, this was a particularly lovely joy for me to partake in. An invigorating experience I hope to recreate each month, but perhaps with more rest and less beer, beer, beer (hindsight!).

And here's to Matt Hales for being a cool table-sharer guy. Go forth, recess'd, depress'd Reader most patriotic, through this portal and see his wonderments!

Of course, HMS heartily thanks Leef Smith, proprietor of the fantastic Mission: Comics & Art, for being a radical fellow and housing our unwashed hides for so long. Huzzah for his portal as well, O gun-cleanin' Reader!

Yes, yes, we've been there before. Yes, yes, we rocked the shit into vaporous farts. Yes, yes we made all the money to fund our android army, Robotz Gotz Shotz.

But that was under the hideous, ill-conceived ILAD Studios name! And lo, the Ancient Records of Awesome Fights shows that we, the HMS Employees Three, destroyed the malformed, but spirited Eye-Lad and smote his ruin all over the moutainside.

ANYGULDERNWAY, the Alternative Press Expo is a great con, with all types of innaresting comic folk bustling about. Plus, Jeff Smith will be there!

Both harrowing and historically debatable, Lincoln chronicles the incredible adventures of an outlaw squirrel. Follow this deadly, determined warrior of the West as he battles businessmen vultures, mercenary cockroaches, and (quite literally) gangs of filthy babies.

We check in with Lincoln during a series of daring mini-adventures. Though short in length, these tiny escapades are no less dangerous! Much like Lincoln himself!

Well met, mates! We've been working on a real nice sauce over at the HMS Compound and we'd like to share our acidic, ripened labour-fruits with your eyeballs and brain canals now.

At Comic-Con Twenty-Oh-Nine, we'll be unleashing a compilation of all our works, past, present and jet pack-wearing future so you'll be actually able to touch these images with your bespeckled, crow-like hands! But for now you only get Teh Internetz's terrible, surprisingly non-erotic version.

GASMEN is like, as I have elaborated majestically in lecture halls and at clandestine societal gatherings, "fawwwkk." I blindfold myself and slam the keyboard as hard as I can to scribe this anarchic tome and Dave N. uses a mixture of gunpowder, his own blood and Sunny D to make the materials for duh pah-ritty pic-chahs.

Embiggens, I says!

"Snailtown" is a state-recognized religion in most Southeast Asian countries. It's doctrines and psalms are penned by Dave K.

"The Huntress" is made without either of the Dave Slaves. It is my favorite book to work on.

Brothers is a tale of destruction and transformation told in the Kurokawa period of Japan. It will be told in a more illustrated novel fashion, with words and pictures mainly separated. Thankfully, that means ol' J.A. had to do nary a scribble nor scrivener's load for this completely irrelevant blog update! Hoo-rah!

Remember folks, your crazy-ass retinas saw this voluptuous, smooth-skinned shape of comics to come here, at the HMS Telecommunophonic Satellite, first!

Extree! Extree! Program in Three-Dee!

It is a time for rejoicing, mates! Remember those lovely, transcumptioulescent wax models of Program, hero of beleaguered brain-punks and swarthy nicotine creeps?

They have returned from the sundry, soot-ridden SchrecongoCo factories of southern Austria better than ever! Mr. E. A. Schrecongost, a time-traveling autocrat from the 19th century and manufacturer of the wondrous child's bauble, had this to say upon the toys arrival by steamship to the United States:

"Summon forth the grenadiers for the Nyarlathotep draws near! Brace for the void, my resolute fellows! Hold tight to that doll, Kordosh, we cannot allow your dry, Slavic hands to lose it to the Illuminatus Brigade!"

After which, Mr. Schrecongost, world boxing champ of 1897 and a frugal purchaser of opiates, vanished in a flash of light not unlike the hue and color seen above Giza, Paris and Shanghai in the very same hour.

And now, dear reader, these fruits of proud labor and cruel industry are bourne to you.

Mr. Schrecongost is an artist, director, and aspiring 18th century autocrat. His last name translates to "shrieking ghost" and he has made many fruitful pacts with the undead. His debut toyline, Nemoids, can be found here. As far as my understanding goes, he actually makes them out of awesome.

Meet the HMS Crew!

First up, David Kordosh:

David at WondermentCon, workin' dat ass.

Dave K. is the writer for Liberation Sea and the creator of Snailtown. He is taller than most women (cool) and likes Pepsi (gross). He is also masterminding the super-collaboration science fiction story, Circuits. He actually smells like cleverness and will punch any face, anytime. We are no longer, legally, brothers.

Moving on, there's another guy with a terrible first name, Dave Norton.

But his surname can be joyously pronounced, i.e. "Hey, Nawhton!"

Dave N. has, at best, a tenuous relationship with the bear community near his homestead. He likes PB'n'Js, dressing like an old farter, and meditating on the many ways to kill you (yes, you.) He's also the artist for Liberation Sea, artist and writer for Lincoln, and the co-creator of Gasmen. The last being a project that germinated over a decade ago (see: old farter)! He also does coloring/trimming the verge on Program.

And me! J. A. Kordosh! My punctuated first name belies a certain sophistication, a hint of those old, honored traditions--

I'm not sure what "belies" even means

Long story, short: I'm America's Sweetheart. Except that instead of America, it's Iran. And by sweetheart, I mean most wanted fugitive. Aiiieeee! And by long story, short I mean short story, trite!

I write and draw Program and The Huntress and am a co-creator/ol' fartah of Gasmen.

PLUGGING TIME: Our forthright, musical comrades, Big, Round, asked us to do a flyer for their show at The Knockout! this Sunday. If you live in America, go see them! They are a shit-rockin' good time.

I tried to sketch some rotund, pleasant Bavarian who was quite literally (get this) big and round. Dave K. rightly pointed out that it was too "on the nose."

Hello mates,

This is our new spot for comics, art, stories, and the myriad concerns of handsome, capable men.

We went to WonderCon this year. Exhausting--well, more exhausting than you'd think. A lovely time despite the fatigue, however. Plus, ILAD Studios had it's swan song.

Here's to Hollow Moon and 2009.
